iOS 6 / iOS 6.1 Untethered Jailbreak For iPhone 5 / iPhone 4S Is Ready, Confirms Pod2G

Apple seeded iOS 6.1 beta 5 to developers late yesterday, but some believe that it’s actually a GM or even a final build dressed up as a beta. Recently formed jailbreak super team ‘Evad3rs’ are ready with an iOS 6.1 untethered jailbreak, but will not release it until Apple seeds a public version of iOS 6.1.

In a recent interview with iDigitalTimes, Cyril (Pod2g) confirmed that the team has both the iOS 6 and iOS 6.1 untethered jailbreak ready. He also stated that the most important work on the jailbreak was done by other members and not him. When asked who were the important members behind the jailbreak, he said @planetbeing and @pimskeks (Nikias Bassen). They are also part of the Evad3rs team who’ll be working on finding exploits on iOS and bringing us the jailbreak.

Pod2g did work on the iOS 6/iOS 6.1 jailbreak, but most of the credit goes to Planetbeing and pimskeks, who worked much harder. According to Pod2g, he just ‘unblocked the situation‘ towards the end.

“I arrived at the end, gave ideas that pushed them to their maximum, I kinda unblocked the situation, but it would certainly have happened without me helping. Now I am helping as much as I can in terms of communication, websites, and also development, but I was not involved the same way as previous, focused on my work and all… Yes, in order @planetbeing, @pimskeks, then me.”

MuscleNerd too contributed on the jailbreak, as he has always done. When asked about the future of jailbreaking and the jailbreak for the next version of iOS, Pod2g gave some good news. He stated that while working on the current jailbreak, he found some more exploits that could be used with the next version of iOS, probably iOS 7.

It’s only a matter of time before Apple releases iOS 6.1 to the public, which is when the Evad3rs will release the untethered jailbreak. Both the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 on iOS 6/iOS 6.1 will be supported, so don’t you worry. Just be patient a little longer and pray that Apple doesn’t patch those exploits.

    When does the beta expire?

  • craig84

the ios 6.1 thats been given to developers doesnt have a time limit this time, thats why there thinking it will be the same as the public release when it comes out

  • Gtowndip

What about older devices like the 3G and 4g

  • no

why to pray that apple won’t patch the exploits
what will happen if apple patch them??

  • Logan K

    No Exploits No Jailbreak

  • no

what are the opportunities to patching the exploits?

  • blu

Nice. I am missing my JB apps on my 5.

  • Luis

    What’s new in this version??

  • Ethyn Resausk

With installous shut down you better hope there’s still an App Sync for iOS 6 and even more grave news for you if there is one it better be compatible for your lovely 5.

  • Ethyn Resausk

Exploits allow the team to upload their own code into the firmware its like rewritten code that can be used to fuck with the firmware basically, im sure if there was more hackers out there that would rather do harm to your device it’d be pretty easy to create exploits that can ruin your device Im sure. Example a fake iOS 6 jailbreak and you go ahead and install it ignorantly when you should know the dev-team are the only ones that will ever create one unless someone else pops into the community.

the question is…why is there only one team of people responsible for jailbreak. Out of 7 billion people in the world only 5 people decided to make jailbreak?

    It is a bit strange.

  • Tyron Escat

    Nothing for iPad/mini

  • Ethyn Resausk

Some don’t have the time or dont have the intelligence to learn it or are against it which I think is the reason being. Exploiting isn’t east…i’ve tried messing with coding myself but lack a lot, im better with scripting.

  • Damian W

there was comex, gehot and many others who disappeared quickly. Yet, not many faces came to jailbreak. Again, 7 billion people out there, I am sure somewhere in Asia guys are coding day and night, and could come up with jailbreak very fast. It would be interesting if it this happened to be real

  • Ethyn Resausk

well then again those Asians are probably selling the exploits they have to apple

  • Ralph Colyn

Would the ipad2 JB follow shortly after ?

  • Neon Ragnarok

I guess the idea never occurred to you that there are ways of manually installing ipa files? I can tell from your response that you literally have no idea about anything with a jailbroken device besides using Installous and how to install a package through Cydia. Congratulations, smart guy

  • Neon Ragnarok

You are so full of crap. Nobody listen to this guy, he is getting all of his information from skimming through blogs and has no idea what he is talking about.

so what are the chances to the jailbreak?

    OMG !!!! F*CK YEAH !!!!

  • Neon Ragnarok

The jailbreak team has already stated that the jailbreak is ready for release. All that they are waiting for is Apple to publicly release 6.1 so that they can get their hands on the execution code. They have not and will not release to anyone what the exploits are, so the odds of Apple being able to patch them are slim to none. The chance of a successful jailbreak is 95%-100%.

  • no

thats mean there will be a jailbreak for sure

  • blu

I never used installous before, so why would it be an issue now?

  • Kostas Vlahakis

installous maybe shut, but vshare is here, stronger and better

  • flytrap

If this doesn’t happen I am dumping my ipad mini and jumping to the Nexus 7. I have already dumped the iphone for a Galaxy S3, which is much better.

You just disappeared… I am trying to connect with you anyway I can find you… Wondering if responses to this go to your email.
