One of the largest issues that seemed to be present in the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Untethered Jailbreak was sandbox errors. In case you are not aware, in the coding world, a sandbox refers to running code in a restricted security environment to limit the access permissions granted to the code. It was due to these sandbox errors that Pod2G needed to recruit additional hackers to help him bring the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak into a publicly releasable state.

With hackers like MuscleNerd, Planetbieng, P0sixninja and even Saurik by Pod2G’s side they have successfully gotten out of the sandbox! The news comes from Planetbeing who has recently tweeted, for nearly the first time in a couple of years, to alert the Jailbreaking community of this achievement.

He mentions that thanks to Saurik’s contribution to the cause they have successfully gotten out of of Sandbox. One other interesting detail mentioned by Planetbeing is that getting out of sandbox turned out to be more complex than exploiting the iPhone 4/iPad 2 baseband “X-Gold 618“. While this is some great news there is unfortunately no proposed ETA on the release of the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Untethered Jailbreak.

We will keep you updated when more details of this iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Untethered Jailbreak is available. Until that time please stay tuned and leave any questions or thoughts in the comments section below…
