Why was there a big push to upgrade to 5.0.1 if this supports 5.0? I think my battery life is worse on 5.0.1 and I want to go back. Any way to do this?

I restored my ipad 2 too. Still Absinthe isn’t detecting my ipad2 5.0.1. I hope i am making sense – i can open Chronic-Dev Absinthe application. But, the application isn’t able to detect my ipad 2. I have been waiting for this for many months. Could someone help me with this please???I am unable to proceed even with the first step. There is no hardware issue.

my windows absinthe just sits after it detects the ipad2 …then after a few minutes it says close the program or look online for a solution….then when I try again. it says it failed to jailbreak and it recovers…then tells me to unplug the ipad 2 and the whole thing starts over again…..

change to another usb port and jailbreak again.. it work for me after same error as you after i restart computer and change another usb connection to ipad 2. hope can help you this

Hello,

I have successfully jailbroken my iPhone 4S using absinthe. Now working on ipad2.

The first time i tried, windows froze and I had to restart. Now every time I plug in my ipad2, i get an error saying “looks like you attempted this jailbreak and it failed. will try to fix now” followed by “recovery complete. unplug and retry jailbreak”

I get that message every time, even after i unplug and retry. I have tried re-downloading absinthe, resetting ipad, restarting computer, everything i can think of.

anyone else have this issue? have the remedy?

PLEASE HELP! much appreciated.

I had the same problem. but I had found the trick. At first you must backup your iPad, and then you must restore your ipad without restore the backup, after that you must close itunes without restore your backup. Set up your ipad until done, like new ipad. Plug in your ipad n run absinthe, and now it’s works! After jailbreak is complete, run itunes n restore your backup. And it’s done! Sorry for my bad grammar! I hope you understand it!

My iPhone 4S and iPad 2 both say the same thing… “sorry the device is not supported” … the ipad 2 is running 5.0.1 its been restored a number of times and i have downloaded the absiinthe program a 5 times. still the same thing also downloaded and unziped the files using WinRAR…WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!

I hope someone can help and also hope this is in the right place. Jailbroken IPAD2 5.0.1 with redsnow and absinthe. Recently i have been unable to sync my device with any computer. It is showing a solid yellow bar (other) in the info panel on itunes with the sync button greyed out. its driving me nuts as i think will have to restore to hopefully be able to put media back on to my device which will give me 5.1 and wont be able to jailbreak just yet! grrr if anyone know how to help, knows how to remove cydia without restore that would be great.
