Along with releasing the iOS 6.1.3 firmware in March, Apple also released an update for the Apple TV bringing it to version 5.2.1. Just like the iOS 6.1.3 update, the Apple TV 5.2.1 firmware patched the Evasi0n exploit used to Jailbreak the Apple TV Untethered, but also added support for the new Hulu Plus app.
Those that use Hulu a lot will definitely want to take advantage of the new Hulu Plus app, but for those that rely on a Jailbreak you would have been stuck on the Apple TV 5.2 firmware as there was no Jailbreaking solution (even tethered) for the 5.2.1 firmware.
Luckily the FireCore Dev-Team have announced over Twitter today that Seas0nPass has been updated to support Jailbreaking the 2nd generation Apple TV on 5.2.1 tethered. This means if you don’t mind sacrificing your Untethered Apple TV Jailbreak you can update to the 5.2.1 firmware and then re-Jailbreak using the latest version of Seas0nPass.
Keep in mind however, that it could be some time before another Untethered Apple TV Jailbreak is released so we recommend only updating to 5.2.1 if you absolutely must get your hands on the new Hulu Plus app.
You can download the new version of Seas0nPass from the iJailbreak Downloads Section. Let us know if you will be upgrading in the comments section below.
