Popular Windows jailbreak tool Sn0wbreeze has received an update that adds support for the new iOS 6.x untethered jailbreak. If you’re a Windows user and are currently rocking an A4 or older iOS device, then this will come in handy for you.
After a really long wait, the iOS 6.x untethered jailbreak was finally released to the public by the Evad3rs. The Evasi0n jailbreak tool was downloaded over 100,000 times in under 10 minutes of its release. The tool provides an untethered jailbreak for any iOS device that supports iOS 6.x. Now, iH8sn0w has released an update for his popular Windows jailbreak utility Sn0wbreeze, which brings the iOS 6.x untether to the software.
Sn0wbreeze v2.9.8 can now jailbreak your A4 device and iPhone 3GS running on iOS 6.1. This tool is only for those who are still rocking an A4 device such as the iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4th generation etc. It doesn’t support the newer A5(X)/A6(X) devices. The update also fixes Hacktivation problems on iOS 6.0.x and some iFaith mode bugs. You can also create a custom IPSW to preserve baseband and downgrade using this tool.
Of course, you could just use the Evasi0n tool to jailbreak your A4 device as well, but if you need to preserve the baseband, hacktivate and then jailbreak, Sn0wbreeze is a better option. As far as support for A5(X)/A6(X) devices is concerned, iH8sn0w has confirmed that it cannot be done unless a new exploit is found. Same goes for Hacktivation on the newer devices.
