It’s a trend for developers to come together and create a unique custom ROM. The MiNCO custom ROM is now available for Galaxy Nexus GT-i9250, thanks to the joint efforts of Francisco Franco and Minooch. It’s based on the Android open source project (AOSP), and has stable features.
Before moving onto the instructions on how to tweak your device with this recent release, you should note a few things. The steps you’re going to see are meant to be applied only on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus GT-i9250. To confirm you have this model, go to ‘Settings’ > ‘About phone’. Applying them on any other model may lead to outcomes that are not favorable. You should also charge the battery properly for the process to go smoothly. Security software can be disabled in advance to make sure they don’t interfere with the process. A backup of any important files on the device is also recommended. At last, before following the guide you should note that iJailbreak won’t be responsible for any loss or damages if anything goes wrong. You’re going to do everything at your own risk.
Instructions For Flashing MiNCO ROM On Galaxy Nexus GT-i9250
Step 1: Install ClockworkMod Recovery on Galaxy Nexus GT-i9250 prior to the upcoming steps. Ignore this step if ClockworkMod is already there on your phone.
Step 2: Download the MiNCO ROM (link).
Step 3: Copy the file downloaded in the previous step to the internal SD card of the device.
Step 4: Switch off the device, and boot into ClockworkMod Recovery by pressing and holding the buttons Power, Volume Up and Volume Down until the Fastboot menu appears. Highlight ‘recovery’ using the Volume keys and use the Power button to select it. An Android warning sign will appear. At this point, press and hold the buttons Power and Volume Down, and then press the Power button to enter recovery mode.
Step 5: Create a Nandroid backup of the existing ROM (this is done as a precaution). To do this select ‘Backup and Restore’ > ‘Backup’.
Step 6: Select ‘wipe data/factory’ reset and confirm the action on the screen that appears by selecting ‘Yes’.
Step 7: Select ‘install zip from SD card’ > ‘choose zip from SD card’. Search for the ‘.zip’ file copied to the SD card in step 4 and select it to begin the flashing process. Confirm the action by selecting ‘Yes’ on the screen that appears.
Step 8: After the process completes, go back to the main menu of recovery and select ‘Reboot system Now’.
