A new website has been launched, that helps you figure out if you can jailbreak and unlock your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple TV and Apple Watch. The “iDevice Jailbreak & Unlock Wizard” online tool allows you to input what device you have, what model, what firmware, what baseband, and what platform (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux) and then uses that info to tell if you can jailbreak and unlock your device. If you are able to, the wizard will also tell what tools (PwnageTool, JailbreakMe, RedSn0w etc.) you need to do it!
This is a great first step, for some one interested in jailbreaking, but doesn’t really know anything about it. From my knowledge of jailbreaking and unlocking, this wizard was fairly accurate, although it didn’t give all the current choices for jailbreaking. In the case of my iPhone 4, the wizard says I have to use GreenPois0n, but I jailbroke my device with LimeRa1n. Go give it a try!
