As I am sure you are well aware of iH8Sn0w recently released a new version of Sn0wBreeze (v2.2x) supporting the iOS 4.2.1 firmware (untethered jailbreak). Unfortunately for a lot of users when it came time to restore their custom IPSW file through iTunes they were presented with a wide array of iTunes errors (16xx). Luckily yesterday iH8Sn0w tweeted that he updated iReb to version RC3. Which includes support for the iOS 4.2.1 firmware and the iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G, 2G + iPod Touch 4G, 3G, 2G, 1G + iPad + Apple TV 2G.You can take a look at iH8Sn0w’s tweet below…
In case you are not aware of what iReb actually does. It is an application that was developed by iH8Sn0w to bypass common iTunes errors while restoring custom IPSW’s (It puts your iDevice into a pwned state). It works by uploading the jailbroken files using iTunnel so that iTunes can accept the custom IPSW firmware and restore it to your iDevice. In fact it lets you bypass errors 1604, 1603, 1602, 1601, 1600. If you would like to go ahead and download iReb version RC3 go to iH8Sn0w’s official website and download it by clicking here.
Let us know if iReb has helped you restore a custom IPSW firmware file from Sn0wBreeze!
