Planetbeing recently promised that the Chronic Dev Team is rigorously working on iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak for the iPad 2,4. This particular iPad was released earlier this year with a smaller 32nm processor that reduces power consumption, hence providing users with longer battery life. This was done to save costs since Apple decided to sell the iPad 2 at lower prices after the launch of the new iPad. Those who owned the newer iPad 2 (2,4) weren’t able to untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.1.1 as it wasn’t supported. That’s old news now.
Chronic Dev Team have finally released Absinthe 2.0.4 with support for the latest iPad 2,4. Anyone with the iPad 2,4 can now untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.1.1 using the latest Absinthe. If you haven’t updated yet, you should probably do it now and take advantage of the new jailbreak.
