iBye: Back-Up Your iPhone, iPod Touch With An FTP Server

Have you ever wanted to back-up your iPod Touch or iPhone through another medium, besides iTunes? If you have ever asked yourself this question or have ever been interested in doing an FTP back-up of your iPod Touch or iPhone, then iBye is the perfect application for you!

iBye was created by a developer named EvilPenguin, under the ModMyi repo and allows you to backup your data and store that data on a FTP server of your choosing. Not only can it back-up your data, it can also restore this back-up data from your FTP server as well. iBye can back-up and restore a number of application’s data including Mail, Notes, Safari, Calendar, Photos, Contacts and even with your system log.

It’s is a great application if you have an FTP server but if you do not have one, then this application may not seem to appeal to you. However, even if you do not own an actual server you can you get yourself an FTP server for free.

Even if you are not keen on downloading a free FTP server, iBye can do a local backup and a local restore on the iDevice itself. It also has the functionality to remove all the data from a desired application of your choosing.

If you are not looking to delete data and are looking for an application to lock the deletion of data from happening; iBye can do this as well. It’s is a great application for managing and deleting data on your iPod Touch or iPhone and is available on Cydia for $2.99! What are your thoughts on backing up your iDevice from an FTP Server?
