Apple Kills The iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 Signing Window

September 21, 2013 by Jaden Easton-Ellett 12 Comments

If you were hoping to downgrade back to iOS 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 from iOS 7 then you are officially out of luck. Apple has stopped signing both iOS 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 this morning for a majority of devices and as such users are now permanently stuck on iOS 7.

iH8Sn0w was first to break the news and this is a big deal because a Jailbreak for both iOS 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 is actually just right around the corner. We previously shared with you a video of the iOS 6.1.4 Jailbreak in action and it was stated that it could only be weeks away. Unfortunately no official ETA was given though.

Looks like Apple is finally starting to stop signing 6.1.3/6.1.4.

There is some good news for older devices though. Apple still hasn’t stopped signing iOS 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 for older devices like theĀ iPad 2, iPad mini, the iPod touch 4 and iPhone 3GS at the time of writing this article. This means if you have one of these devices and they are running iOS 7 you should be able to downgrade.

Everyone else, however, will have to wait until the release of the iOS 7 Untethered Jailbreak.

Who cares. Buy an android if you want to hack your phone. iOS 7 is great. Not perfect but neither was iOS 6.

Ipod touch 4 should not be listed since it doesn’t support ios7, and its ios 6.1.3 signing windows will always be opened

Funny but I gave it a try. Put phone in DFU (iPhone 4) mode, open tinyumbrella, start TSS server(ssh blobs 6.1.3), open iTunes (latest), shift-restore… Well the process went thru but then, after extractng the firmware, iTunes cannot restart phone into recovery mode. Keeps “Waiting for phone”…. It didn’t give any iTunes errors.
Could there be a window of opportunity here? ….. just sayin!

Lol ! Ipad mini is old
And ipod touch 4g supports ios 7 (he said that signing windows are still opened )
But they will never be closed !
I’m sure he was high when he wrote this sentence

Why would they kill signing for iPhone 4? It is the weakest phone that can run iOS 7, and iOS 7 on it is just terrible. iPhone 4 Users should have an option to downgrade to 6.13 to have a smooth experience. iOS 7 Is still leggy on i4 and it needs tons of updates to fix it. On top of this there is no jailbreak for 6.1.3 so Apple has nothing to worry about.

Again, shame on you Apple for blocking people from downgrading in order to have good system and making a system not suitable for iPhone 4 needs

    I agree with damian,
I pay for a service that worked just fine, I should as a consumer have the option to use what ever ios system that I like, the new ios7 has killed my phone and it lags so bad it really is to much to bare when using it, I removed all files, pics and music from the phone and it is now a POS because apple says I have to run on this new ios. I have no issue with it being on the new 5 and 5c iphones, but for the 4 and 4s we should have the option to remain or downgrade to the old ios 6,1,3..

iPhone 4 could always downgrade with the SHSH blobs, nothing new here.
