The ActiveDock Cydia Tweak Has Hit Cydia, Grab It Now!

February 25, 2013 by Jaden Easton-Ellett 4 Comments

A few days ago we told you about a Cydia tweak by the name of ActiveDock that makes the dock on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad more like the dock found on OS X (in regards to functionality, not aesthetics). Well, if you were looking forward to the tweak’s release you will be glad to know it has just hit Cydia. But first let’s give a quick rundown on ActiveDock for those who missed the original article.

The way ActiveDock works is that it alerts you to which applications are running by a small white light underneath the icon. Additionally, ActiveDock will alert you to notifications by making an apps icon bounce for a pre-set time. This means, for example, if you get a new SMS the Messages app’s icon will bounce until you check it. There is also an option to make all applications bounce quickly before they launch.

As we mentioned previously the bounce effect can be disabled for both notifications and when you launch applications. You can also set the amount of time an application will bounce on your SpringBoard when you receive a notification.

ActiveDock is a project by Filippo Bigarella and Surenix and is available right now in the BigBoss repo for a price of $1.99. Let us know what you think of ActiveDock in the comments section.
