Windows Facebook Messenger App Officially Released And Available To Download
Facebook has officially released the Windows Facebook Messenger application to the public. Although the desktop Facebook Messenger application was released in December, it was unofficial as it was actually leaked. Nearly three months later we now see the official release of Facebook Messenger with no new apparent changes besides bug fixes and stability improvements.
For those who have never seen the Facebook Messenger application for desktop computers, it is essentially just the messaging aspect of Facebook available 24/7 on your desktop. The only other features it contains besides the ability to chat with your friends is notifications. There is no support for voice or video chat, which was previously rumoured and the design of the application is very simple (as you can see below).
At this time the Facebook Messenger application will only work on Windows 7 computers. There is no support for Mac OS X users or any other versions of Windows at this time. There will be updates in the near future however, to bring more wide-spread compatibility.
You can download the desktop Facebook Messenger application by clicking here. Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it in the comments section.
