VLC Media Player Has Just Been Released for the iPodTouch/iPhone! [via AppStore]

VLC media player is no doubt, one of the best cross platform media players available. VLC is open source, free and supports almost all known video formats known to man. VLC media player was originally only released for the iPad, but with a new update from its developers; VLC media player now supports the iPod Touch and iPhone.

Using VLC media player is extremely easy. All you need to do is open up iTunes and transfer video files (even ones that iTunes does not support), through the apps tab. Once your video files are on your iDevice, you can even manage them through VLC media player; this includes the ability to delete files. This version of VLC media player adds the following features:

Runs on the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and the recent iPod touches
You can now delete files from the application, without having to go through iTunes
Many more extensions are being recognized.
Much faster decoding thanks to assembly optimizations
