Reports around the interweb are reporting something disturbing! Users are getting charged multiple times for the Lion download.

A user bought the latest OSX for $31.79 after tax and then downloaded the iTunes Beta 10.5 from the developer center. He then proceeded to check for available downloads using the new iCloud feature and this is where the disaster happened. It seems that feature redownloaded (and charged) another 121 times totaling over $4,000! The worst thing is this doesn’t seem like an isolated incident.

I purchased OS X Lion from the app store and now paypal statement shows that itunes store charged me 20 times more, a total of $599.80. Please help, what am I supposed to do. I already talked with paypal and they said they will look and I emailed apple customer service, no reply yet.

Apple Support Communities are alive with users all reporting the same issue. It seems Apple and PayPal are blaming each other for the error leaving users out of pocket with quite substantial sums of money.
