iOS 5.1 To Have New Lockscreen Camera Button And Japanese Support For Siri [Leak]

On February 17, 2012, by Sid

We recently told you about how Siri confessed that she will soon be able to speak Japanese. Well, now there’s some new information regarding that and also about the new iOS 5.1 build that Apple is expected to release soon. The iOS 5.1 firmware will probably fix the battery issues on iPhone 4S and also bring some new features.

According to BlogdoiPhone, they’ve somehow managed to get their hands on the iOS 5.1 Pre-GM firmware and say that it has a new lockscreen camera button and Japanese support for Siri. The new camera button is always there, instead of it only appearing when double pressing the home button. And, the button is a slider! You just hold and slide it upwards to reveal the camera. It’s also a faster and easier way of accessing the camera from the homescreen. The other new feature discovered was the Japanese language option in Siri settings.

The last time Apple released an iOS 5.1 beta to the public, was in the month of January. So, this looks like the real deal and as rumored, the company may announce the final version during the iPad 3 launch event on March 3. Both are still not confirmed, but we still like to believe that! Tell us what you think of the new camera button!
