The iOS 5.0.1 Beta (9A402) Firmware Will Expire December 14, 2011
Earlier today we told you that Apple has seeded the iOS 5.0.1 beta (9A402) firmware to developers. The iOS 5.0.1 beta firmware brings battery life fixes, Multitasking Gestures on the original iPad, improves voice recognition for Australian users, and other bug and security fixes for the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
Today iH8Sn0w has tweeted that the iOS 5.0.1 beta firmware expires December 14th, 2011 at 8:00PM (Eastern Standard Time). This means if you are running the iOS 5.0.1 beta firmware past this date you will be forced to restore to the official iOS 5.0.1 firmware (or another beta version that is released by Apple). Though there is no real damage that can be done by this expiry timer, it is still a good thing to keep in mind if you are currently running the iOS 5.0.1 beta firmware.
We will keep you updated. Until that time please stay tuned…
