The days of MobileMe is now officially over. Apple has just cut the cord on free iCloud storage for former MobileMe Subscribers.
Over the last year or so Apple has offered former MobileMe subscribers 25GB of free iCloud storage, but now this promotion is over and the Fruit Company has dropped all non-paying iCloud users to the basic 5GB plan.
Those that require more than 5GB of storage will have to sign up for a subscription.
Apple didn’t just suddenly cut MobileMe users storage though, it has issued countless warnings to former MobileMe subscribers. In fact, if you had over 5GB of files you would have received an email a day for the past week letting you know that your storage limit was going to decrease.
Luckily Apple’s pricing for additional storage is more than fair. It is $20 per year for 10GB of additional storage, $40 for 20GB and 50GB for $100.
Apple has provided instructions on how to upgrade or reduce the amount of iCloud storage you’re using here, so be sure to check that out if you are a former MobileMe subscriber.
