It is no question that the current iOS Weather app is in need of a makeover. Why anyone would use the stock Weather app is beyond me. There is so many other weather apps that are absolutely beautiful compared to Apple’s dull and boring variation such as Solar: Weather app.

A German designer by the name of Philipp Tusch felt that same way and has come up with a new weather concept for the iOS 7 firmware generation that actually takes inspiration from the Android Weather app. It is indeed a big change from the existing Weather app featured on all iPhone, iPod Touch and iPads and looks very fitting.

When former iOS VP Scott Forstall was booted from Apple, it was announced Sir Jonathan Ive would be taking over his position along with Eddy Cue. If you know anything about Ive it is that he is not a fan of skeuomorphism and as such it has long been rumored iOS would see a visual makeover in iOS 7.

If there is one application in iOS that deserves a makeover from Ive it is the Weather app, and you have to admit that Tusch’s Weather app concept looks great. Personally, the only thing I am not a huge fan of in this particular concept is the font. Nonetheless, it is a great idea, and while it will likely not become a reality, it is something that could definitely come up as a Cydia tweak or another weather app in the App Store.
