Both Google and Samsung will postpone the launch of their first smartphone running the new Android OS ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ in favor of Steve Jobs who passed away at only 56, on Wednesday, one day after the launch of the iPhone 4S.
Some sources said that it wasn’t the right time to host a launch event just after Job’s death. Samsung stated, “Under the current circumstances, both parties have agreed that this is not the appropriate time for the announcement of a new product.” It was planned for Tuesday at 11:30, the new date is unknown.
This was some great respect from these 2 companies, to postpone a major launch event in favor of Steve Jobs, the founder of one of their major competitors. This isn’t just all, Adobe and Microsoft have also both paid tribute to him along with various others. This should hopefully help Apple to move forward in their upcoming plans.
