EFI Firmware Updates Available For MacBook Pro, Air, Mac Mini And iMac

On February 25, 2012, by Sid

Apple has released new EFI firmware updates for its line up of MacBooks, iMac and Mac Mini. These new firmware updates are essential and need to be updated right away as they improve the stability, performance and also fix bugs. The MacBook Air (mid 2011), iMac (mid 2011), MacBook Pro (early 2011 and late 2011) and Mac Mini (mid 2011) machines are eligible for the update.

The EFI firmware updates mainly resolve an issue that prevented HDCP to be authenticated after reboot. It also fixes an issue with boot device selection while hot-plugging a USB storage device. You can find the download links to the updates below, meanwhile, you can also perform the update from your Mac machine by means of Software Update located at the top left of your screen.

i hate the “natural” scroll direction on my trackpad and disabled it. with the 2.4 update there is no way for me to disable it; when i uncheck the button it doesn’t make a difference and tried restarting my air. still nothing.
