An upcoming biopic about the late Apple founder, called Jobs: Get Inspired, will star Ashton Kutcher as Jobs. Some new photos from the production as reported by Premiere, which began shooting this May, show Kutcher reenacting Jobs’ younger years as a LSD-dropping hippy.

It’s no secret to most Apple fans that Jobs lived a colourful life in the ’70s, before the enormous success of Apple. The biopic, directed by Joshua Michael Stern, seems to have no intentions of shying away from portraying that side of his life. Specifically, the film will focus on the period from 1971-2000, stopping short of depicting the release of the iPod and its subsequent massive success.

Some may find this sort of highlighting of Jobs’ drug habits to be a bit distasteful in a film about his life, but Jobs himself was quite open about his past drug use. He claimed it was often an inspiration for the things he accomplished in the early days of Apple, and no tale of his life would be accurate without giving some screen time to this side of his life.

The film is set to be released sometime in 2013, though no official announcements have yet been made. Alongside Kutcher as Jobs, actor Josh Gad will be playing Wozniak. On a side note, for those of you who remember “Pirates of Silicon Valley” you will realize Noah Wyle also portrayed Jobs high on Acid.
