According to The Wall Street Journal’s technology blog AllThingsD, Apple will be hosting an iPad focussed event two weeks from today on October 22nd. This date makes a lot of sense because Apple usually runs its media events on Tuesdays and guess what… October 22nd is indeed a Tuesday.
It was said by “people familiar with Apple’s plans” that the invitation-only event will of course be centered around new iPads, but OS X Mavericks and the new Mac Pro will likely get some stage time as well.
People familiar with Apple’s plans tell AllThingsD that the company will hold its next invitation-only event on Tuesday October 22. The focal point of the gathering will the latest updates to the company’s iPad line, but new Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks will likely get some stage time as well, I’m told.
According to Jim Dalrmple from The Loop, who is a respected Apple mouthpiece, this report from AllThingsD is indeed correct. Even John Gruber from 9To5Mac chimed in with the following tweet:
Last year: iPhone 5 event: Tuesday 11 Sep. iPad event: Tuesday 23 Oct. This year: iPhone 5S/5C event: Tuesday 10 Sep. iPad event: duh

With Apple’s iPad event pegged for October 22nd it is looking to be a busy month. Not only does Apple have its earnings call scheduled 6 days later, Nokia’s Innovation Reinvented showcase is scheduled on the same day, with the Surface 2 shipping a day later.
Who’s excited for some new iPads?
