The company announced in a Press Release today, that prices for the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro has been reduced by $300. Not only that, Apple has also updated the processor on the high-end version of the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro and both the variants of the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro.
Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display and 256GB of SSD storage gets an updated 2.6GHz Core i5 processor and a new price of $1,699 ($300 cheaper than before). The low end version of the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro gets a price cut of $200, now selling for $1,499. The base model 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro with 256GB of SSD storage gets a new 2.4GHz Core i7 processor, whereas the high end model gets a 2.7GHz Core i7 processor and 16GB of memory. Prices for both remain the same.
Those who were planning on getting a 13-inch MacBook Air can also save about $100. The 256GB version of 13-inch MacBook Air is now priced at $1,399. If you bought one of the new updated MacBooks in the last two weeks, Apple will update it for you free of cost. It’s the second time Apple is refreshing the MacBook Pro with Retina display line up since updating the MacBook Air.
