Analysts at KGI Securities have been behind numerous rumors in the past and today they are back again. If Ming-Chi Kuo is to be believed Apple’s fourth quarter is going to be very busy with product releases to say the least. According to Kuo, Apple is going to host two last media events in 2012, one in September and one October, to announce 8 new products in total!

The media event scheduled in September will be used to announce the iPhone 5, 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display, a new iPod Touch and a new 21.5-inch iMac. Whereas the event set to take place in October will be dedicated to the iPad Mini with a 7.85-inch display, a re-designed iPod Nano with Wi-Fi, a modified new iPad with a mini dock, and a new 27-inch iMac.

Tim Cook "2012 there's a lot to look forward to"

Tim Cook “2012 – There’s a lot to look forward to”

If the analyst from KGI Securities are to be believed, this crowded lineup of products has caused numerous component and assembly issues earlier in the year, which is why the fruit company has had to wait so long to announce these products. In fact, according to AppleInsider, a lot of these products were supposed to be released in late second quarter or early third quarter.

With the new iPhone, Kuo said the main issue has been with assembly of the device. As for the “iPad mini,” Apple has reportedly seen production yield issues with a “very thin panel module” being utilized. The difficulty in placing a Wi-Fi chip inside of the new iPod nano is likely what caused an internal delay for that product. And finally Apple has demanded full-lamination between the panel and the cover glass of the 27-inch iMac, which results in a lower yield and increased production time.

Only time will tell whether or not Apple actually plans to announce 8 new products in the next two months, but if Tim Cook is to be believed when he said “2012 – there is a lot to look forward to,” it makes sense.
