Apple’s Code-Names Are Not As Awesome As Android’s
As many newcomers to Google’s Android operating system raise their eyebrows to the peculiar naming strategy for versions such as Cupcake, Honeycomb, and Ice Cream Sandwich, Apple’s code-names for their iOS operating system have recently been released. While the names are not nearly as fun and enjoyable as Google dessert and foods related ones are.
Developer Steve Troughton-Smith has released the list featuring all of the code-names via his twitter. They are the following:
- 1.0: Alpine
- 1.1: Little Bear
- 2.0 Big Bear
- 2.1 Sugarbowl
- 2.2 Timberline
- 3.0 Kirkwood
- 3.1 Northstar
- 3.2 Wildcat
- 4.0 Apex
- 4.1 Baker
- 4.2 Jasper
- 4.3 Durango
- 5.0 Telluride
- 5.1 Hoodo

I don’t think these are nearly as fun, nor do they seem to follow any sort of pattern. Do you see a pattern to this naming strategy? If you do, or want to suggest your own, let us know in the comments below.
