If you are a registered Apple developer and have tried to login to the Apple Dev Center the last couple of days you have probably ran into some issues. Don’t worry though, you aren’t alone in this matter. The Apple Dev Center, the portal where developers can access various resources such as downloads, documentation etc., has actually been down for the last 48 hours.
Considering that Apple charges a $99 subscription fee for access to the dev center… it is safe to say that developers are getting frustrated. Especially because Apple has only just issued a statement on the matter.
If you now try to visit the dev center you will be returned with the following message:
We’ll be back soon. We apologize that maintenance is taking longer than expected. If your program membership was set to expire during this period, it has been extended and your app will remain on the App Store. If you have any other concerns about your account, please contact us. Thank you for your patience.
At this time it is unclear just what kind of maintenance is taking place, but considering it has already been offline for 48, it shouldn’t be long until we find out. Any predictions? Drop us a line in the comments section.
