How To: Jailbreak Apple TV 2G On 5.0 (iOS 5.1) Firmware With Seas0nPass 0.8.3 [Windows]

The new Apple TV 5.0 firmware that was introduced alongside the 1080p Apple TV features a completely re-designed UI (user interface). As such just simply releasing a Jailbreak for the Apple TV 2G on the 5.0 firmware would be near pointless because aTV Flash (black) would not be integrated natively. That is why it took the FireCore Dev-Team over 2 weeks to release the Apple TV 2G 5.0 (iOS 5.1) Jailbreak and of course an updated version of aTV Flash (black) compatible with the 5.0 firmware.

I’m trying to follow the instructions on a windows 7 64 bit computer. After I plug-in the device and get it on DFU mode, it launches iTunes on the restore window, but seasonpass crashes saying: “Version 0.8.3.5592 has stopped working – A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.” and the entire process comes to a halt. Windows of course does not offer any solution.
I already tried a 2nd computer, what can I do?

If the Apple TV simply reboots/reloads/relaunches (which is pretty common when jailbroken) do you still need to be tethered? What about when holding both Menu and Play/Pause for 10 seconds to reboot, will you need to be tethered then? Or is it ONLY when the power is lost or disconnected that you need to be tethered?
