Download RedSn0w 0.9.10b3 For Mac And Windows To Fix MobileSubstrate Error

Yesterday we told you that RedSn0w was updated to version 0.9.10b2 to fix an error with the launchctl extension that effected the way certain Cydia tweaks ran and installed. With the launchctl extension working with the iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak after first re-running RedSn0w over you existing Jailbreak, all errors were thought to be fixed. It looks like, however, that when you ran RedSn0w 0.9.10b2 over your existing Jailbreak it caused an error with MobileSubstrate (an extremely crucial extension library that all Cydia tweaks rely on). Thus, the iPhone Dev-Team have released RedSn0w 0.9.10b3 to fix this error with MobileSubstrate.

If you would like to fix the MobileSubstrate error present on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad Jailbroken on the iOS 5.0.1 firmware untethered with RedSn0w 0.9.10b2. You can either reinstall MobileSubstrate from Cydia or download RedSn0w 0.9.10b3 and Re-Jailbreak your iOS device by running RedSn0w once again (make sure you deselect the install Cydia option).

Can i run this version3 over the previous redsn0w 0.9.10b1currently on my iphone4? i have read from other sites it will caused problem and you’ll be stuck in safe mode????

I would do what the bottom paragraph says if you have the B1 or B2 installed

The only problem I’m running into is that iBooks doesn’t work. Anyone else having that problem?

I books doesnt work for me tooo plz fix it i need i books guys i restore my ipod and jailbreak with redsnow 0.9.10.b3 but when i open ibooks its give me an error and telling me that to restore with itunes and after that will crash

Remove ibook from and reinstall from appstore. Do not open it Then search in Cydia for ibook fix2 app and run it. Perform then a hard reboot. (hold down power and home buttons until iphone or ipad restarts )and you are all set

Interesting. I JB my phone with 10b1 and the only time I had a problem surface was after I downloaded SBSettings, which caused my phone to crash a few times and get stuck while trying to respring. As soon as I deleted it and went with UISettings, all of my problems went away. Just FYI.

Just got my iBooks to work. First you have to delete the existing iBooks on your device and then reboot. Second thing is to install xsellize repo. After installing the xsellize repo do a search for iBooks Fix for iOS 5 and install it. I rebooted then went to the apple app store downloaded iBooks rebooted once more and it worked. I’ve tried different combos of steps without rebooting and it didnt work. I finally went ahead and rebooted each time I installed something and now it works great! I hope this helps you.

@Kareen: I was going through the same thing you were and I was getting pissed that I might have messed my phone up. I you said it just got better and better. Now my phone seems to be a 100%

I jb using b1, and tomtom was working fine, but hang at tomtom logo after i upgraded mobilesubstrate. i noticed iBooks is not working too. I then apply b3 without cydia as instructured, but still iBooks and tomtom are not working.

then i have two ibooks icon and non of them work ? ..
i followed exactly as you said…
1) remove ibooks.
2) install ibooks from xsellize (i got ibooks icon)
3) install ibooks from itunes (one more ibooks icon)..
all after rebooting .. doesnt work

After this jailbreak, my App Store crashes. Right after the app tries to open, the app just crashes. Anyone else experiencing this?
