Absinthe v2.0 iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak Could Be Released Tomorrow, May 25 At HITBSecConf
A recent tweet from the official HITB (Hack In The Box) Twitter handle may suggest that the latest iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak could be released tomorrow, May 25th. We’ve been waiting a long time for the release of this jailbreak and Pod2g has already confirmed that it works for almost all A5 and A4 based iOS devices.

HITB is currently in full swing in Amsterdam, with a lot of major iOS hackers including MuscleNerd that are about to hit the stage. However, day 2 is when all the main magic is suppose to be happening. According to the tweet, on day 2 i.e May 25th tomorrow, the audience will get to witness Pod2g, PosixNinja, Planetbeing and Nikias perform the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak ‘LIVE’. Sounds like a perfect time to release the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak with Absinthe v2.0 to the public. We are not sure if that will actually happen, but it looks like that is the case. Pod2g did mention just days ago that the release is only days away and tomorrow is luckily also a Friday.
There is a slight problem though, as the agenda for the events say iOS 5.0.1 instead of iOS 5.1.1. Could this be a mistake or will the hackers instead preview the previous iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak, only time will tell. We would like to think that it was probably a printing mistake. You can check the complete agenda for HITB here. Also, if you’re in Amsterdam, you can still pick up special one day passes at the venue for May 25th for Euro 699. They are expensive, but true jailbreakers and hackers wouldn’t mind paying that to get access to the gods!
