Not only is an official jailbreak for iOS 4 not released yet, but iOS 4 itself hasn’t been released yet, and we are already starting to see jailbreak apps for iOS 4 released in Cydia.
AppSync 4.0 has been released, by the folks at Hackulous. This tweak modifies the Installd file, allowing you to install modified, or “cracked”, DRM free apps, on your iPhone and iPod touch. This gives you the ability to “Try before you buy”.

This is a pretty touchy subject. Developers hate us for sharing this information, as it digs into their income, and rightly so. We choose to share this information, with a trust. We are trusting you to purchase any app that you find, using this method, that you find useful and/or entertaining. If you open an app more than once, then there must be something intriguing enough to peak your interest, and therefore you should probably pay for that app. Most of these apps are only a dollar or two, so just save up your allowance, go buy an iTunes card, and get the app the right way.
That being said, I know there are still some countries around the world that do not officially have the iPhone, or an App Store, so this is the only way for them to enjoy all these apps. Some developers are probably okay with this, as it spreads the word about their hard work, and lets more people enjoy their apps, around the world.
Please pirate responsibly.
