Now I know this seems too far away to think about with the iPhone 5 yet to be released, but honestly, it’s never to early to start up the talks.
Expected to be released in July of 2012 comes the iPhone 6, the newest and most innovated Apple product.
With a lot of upcoming competition amongst other companies, Apple will need to blow the rest out of the water. Let’s start this off with the facts.
Sprint recently released the first 3D cell phone with the HTC EVO 3D. This phone looks amazing, not only because it is the first 3D phone, but because it also shoots video in 3D. Impressive…
If Apple knows what’s best, they will implement the glasses-free 3D into the iPhone 6. By 2012, I predict 3D will be everywhere and it would be shocking to see Apple become the last to use the technology. Without it, Apple would be trailing big time.
Next, the appearance. The iPhone 5 has a 4-inch edge-to-edge screen and should look beautiful. The iPhone 6 would most likely keep the same size, as anything too big would be just bulky and another Samsung look-alike. As for design, the iPhone 5 looks really sleek. If anything major comes to the iPhone 6, it would be in the width. A thinner phone is completely possible, especially with all the technological advancements. Another possible feature would be a button-free phone. I’m not really liking the sound of that, because personally, I’d rather push a button. The home button may be gone too, as the iPhone 6 may be all gestures. However if Apple does keep the home button, I’d like to see the little square in the middle glow a tad-bit, that’d be cool.
There is a lot of talk about a “window phone” and I’ll just set the record straight by saying no. There will never be a see-through phone, as it would be just pointless. I mean really, is it necessary?
Some other rumors are that the iPhone 6 will be completely wireless and charged wirelessly as well. That can be cool, if Apple does it right.
A biggest concern I, as well as many people, have is with the functionality of a better battery. Let’s face it, the iPhone battery sucks. However, the Phone 6 might be the first to use the organic radical battery (ORB) technology. ORB also boasts an absurdly fast recharge time (about 30 seconds) and higher energy density (will be able to pack more power into a smaller battery). That can be a huge advantage for Apple and would be a great addition to the phone of the future.
While the iPhone 6 is still awhile aways yet, let’s just wrap up the possibilities and keep our minds going until 2012!
- 4g Capability
- Faster chip
- Better camera (3D and maybe 20 MP)
- 3D glasses-free screen
