Here Is What The Next-Generation iPhone Would Look Like With A 4-Inch Tall Display
iLounge started a rumor that Apple would increase the size of the next-generation iPhone’s screen to 4-inches. Instead of making the next-generation iPhone wider to fit the larger screen however, they suggested Apple would make it taller. MacRumors recently took this rumor and hired a design studio by the name of Ciccaresdesign to make a rendering of what this would actually look like.
They have suggested that with a 4-inch tall screen Apple could add another row of icons to the SpringBoard (homescreen). Besides the larger screen, a smaller dock connector can also be seen, which has been rumoured by multiple sources. In my opinion a taller iPhone just doesn’t look quite right, but extending the screen apparently only adds about 10mm.
If your browser supports WebGL (most modern browsers) then you can take a look at an interactive 3D model of this rendering. For OS X users on Safari you will need to turn WebGL on by first navigating to Preferences -> Advanced -> Show Develop menu in menu bar and then choosing the “Enable WebGL” option from the Develop menu that appears.
I am curious to see what you think of this taller next-generation iPhone concept. Leave your thoughts about it in the comments section below…
