During the last few months Samsung has been blindly suing Apple in different parts of the world. Unfortunately for Samsung, however, they have seen defeat in every case.
The reason behind this madness is because Apple put a ban on Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia. Additionally, adding insult to Samsung’s recent defeats, Judge Marina Tavassi has denied Samsung’s recent request to ban the recently released iPhone 4S in Italy (according to a preliminary hearing held in Milan yesterday).
The reason Samsung tried to block the sales of the iPhone 4S in Italy was because Samsung claimed the iPhone 4S violates their wireless technology patents.
While at this time the judge has denied Samsung’s request, the decision is not binding or final, and the court has given the Samsung lawyers until November 15 to prepare a brief overview of patents they believe are used in Apple’s new device. Then the court will hear their arguments, and make a binding and a final decision on this matter. Looking at Samsung’s current losses in other countries, it doesn’t looks like Samsung can succeed in banning the iPhone 4S in Italy. Samsung fans, be ready, as you are likely to hear about another blow on your favorite company in the next few weeks.
