Cameras on smartphones are becoming more and more advanced every year. In fact, smartphones have pretty much replaced the point-and-shoot camera due to the high quality cameras being implemented on the latest phones. I mean, why walk around with two devices when you can just carry one for all your needs right?

Apple has climbed up to be the top smartphone maker in the world, and with all of the iPhone’s success, it was only a matter of time before it took over the camera competition too. Well, that time has come…

According to Flickr, the iPhone is now the preferred camera of choice amongst some very heavy competition. In fact, the iPhone 4 even beats out the Canon EOS 5D Mark II and the Nikon D90, two pretty nice devices. However, this really isn’t a shocker considering many people now use their smartphone as their primary digital camera.

So why is the iPhone such a popular choice for a camera? Well, as ModMyi points out, it’s not just about the camera’s quality itself. “The convenience, ability to quickly share images, and pretty snazzy photo editing tools have all contributed to the device’s reputation as a leading digital camera.”

What do you think? Has your iPhone become your go-to camera?
