So, you probably have heard that Apple has released a new beta of iOS 4.1 to developers. We are guessing this will be available to the public in the fall, but there are folks out there installing it now. We recommend you stay away from it, for now, but it’s your choice. rorypiper
It turns out that the awesome jailbreak tool, Redsn0w, still works to jailbreak this latest beta. You need Redsn0w 0.9.5 b5-5. When you run Redsn0w, just make sure you point to the original iOS 4 firmware (see the screenshot). It is the same process as our tutorial on jailbreaking iOS 4.0.1 with Resn0w, and you can check that out here.
A couple things you should know: this is only for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G. Also, the baseband has been updated in this beta, so if you need to unlock your iPhone, stay away from iOS 4.1 beta2.
