Apple’s Fighting Back: Stops Signing Firmware 3.1.2 For iPhone 3GS

On February 4, 2010, by Dusty

Caution for iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G users that are using a jailbroken iPhone!

We new the time would come when Apple would stop signing firmware 3.1.2 after we seen the announcement of firmware 3.1.3. This means, if you did not store you TSS in Cydia or Rock App, unfortunetly you wll not be able to restore your device to anything lower then 3.1.3. So if you were one of them users that rushed out to grab Apple’s firmware update 3.1.3, didn’t like it or prefer a different firmware. Trying to restore back down is not going to happen unless you saved your TSS.

From now on, if you are running firmware 3.1.2 and DO NOT have your TSS saved. BE CAREFUL AT WHAT YOU DO! (Remember, this is for users that Jailbreak their iPhone)

Over at BigBoss, they recommend to install openSSH and learn how you can fix your own problems without needing to restore.
