The next-generation iPad and iPad Mini have actually been mentioned quite a few times in various rumors already, despite only being released a couple of months ago. Now, according to MacRumors we can expect the fifth generation iPad and second generation iPad Mini released sometime in March.
According to Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White “our checks at CES indicate Apple will release the iPad 5 and the second-generation iPad mini this March.” White further goes on to say that “the iPad 5 is expected to be lighter and thinner than the iPad 4 that was released in October, while the form factor of the iPad mini should be similar to the first generation iPad mini that debuted in October.”
Near the end of December we told you that RBC analyst Doug Freedman also claimed that the second generation iPad Mini had been “pulled -in” by Apple. The Japanese blog Macotakara also gave a March release date for Apple’s next-generation tablets.
It is not known whether or not the fruit company plans to stick to shorter release cycles (as we saw in October) to keep up with the fast moving mobile device market, or if it just something the company did to bring all of their devices up to the Lightning standard. What do you think? Will Apple be sticking to a 6-month refresh cycle or will it be random from here on out? Let us know in the comments section below.
