The iPad 2S/iPad 3 Will Indeed Feature A 2048×1536 Retina Display
It is no doubt that you have heard the rumor that the iPad 2S/iPad 3 will feature a Retina Display (in fact, you are probably tired of hearing about it). Today, however, MacRumors has managed to get their hands on the proposed display for the next generation iPad and have indeed concluded that it is a Retina Display.
They have noted that while it features the same general look and shape of the previous display, if you examine it under a microscope you can see that the pixels are one-quarter the size of those on the iPad 2.
The folks over at MacRumors were not able to power up the display, but have concluded that it will be a 2048×1536 display. This is twice the linear pixels over the previous generation iPad’s display and this will mean a dramatic increase in the clarity and sharpness of the screen.
Up to now we are expecting the iPad 2S/iPad 3 to be launched the first week of March containing a Retina Display, an A6 quad core chip and 4G LTE support. Are you getting excited for the release of the next generation iPad? Share your responses and thoughts in the comments.
