RedSn0w 0.9.6rc14 Now Available To Download: Fixes iPhone 4 Untether Issues

Just a quick heads up: The iPhone Dev-Team have released RedSn0w 0.9.6rc14, the iOS 4.3.2 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 (GSM), iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G and iPad 1.

Update #2: redsn0w rc14 includes the fixed i4 untether from @i0n1c.  You can re-run redsn0w rc14 right over the tethered rc13b to transform the i4 JB into an untethered one.

Note: The iOS 4.3.2 untethered jailbreak is not compatible with the iPad 2 at this time.

Has anyone had any luck with getting this to work with Mac? Every time I follow the DFU steps, I get a white screen and the redsn0w app error outs.

  • Dirt

I get the same error and I am on Vista, ‘App Crash’ at exactly the same point as you. Tried a couple times but seems to be a no-go.

  • Crunch

I just jailbroke my iPhone 4 and iPad 1 with RC14 on OS X 10.6.7 and iTunes 10.2.2. Worked like a charm and actually *fixed* a couple of minor annoyances.

Make sure that you launch redsn0w with admin privileges on Windows and also check “Run in XP mode” if you’re having problems with it. On the Mac, I like to do the same thing, i.e. open Terminal, type sudo open (and a space), drag the app into the window (you’ll see the green + sign appear, then let go of the mouse), enter your pw (you won’t see the cursor so be careful typing) and voila, redsn0w will run open at “admin level”.

    The last screen shown
“Error, no successful firmware download after 60000 ms!! Giving up…
and apple logo on the screen forever
Is there any solution to assist to do he upgrade successfully?
