JailbreakMe has been known as the easiest method of Jailbreaking for your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. This is because JailbreakMe is a userland Jailbreak, which means it is executed by simply navigating to a website through Mobile Safari (iOS operating system). In the latest iteration of JailbreakMe (version 3.0) you were able to Jailbreak the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad (including the iPad 2) running up to the iOS 4.3.3 firmware untethered.
Unfortunately earlier this week we reported that the domain name JailbreakMe.com was sold to an unknown individual meaning the website could now be used to spread malware. We warned you to stay away from JailbreakMe.com and use an alternative website (put out by the Dev-Team) called Jailbreaks.me.
Today Saurik has sent out a series of tweets, however, explaining that JailbreakMe.com was sold to a trustworthy individual and it is now being transferred to Saurik. This means JailbreakMe.com is still a safe method of Jailbreaking your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
We will keep you updated if anything changes, but at this time, JailbreakMe.com remains the easiest way to Jailbreak your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
