When Will Apple Release The Next iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, iPod Nano And iPad Mini? [Rumor]

The next generation iPhone is persistently rumored to have a retooled, miniature dock connector. If that’s the case, where’s the rumors for the rest of the to-be-refreshed Apple products? After all, a new dock connector wouldn’t be ideal if it was for only one product. iLounge has a new set of rumors concerning refreshes for Apple’s entire lineup. They have not revealed the source of these new rumors, but claim that their source is reliable (whatever that means). On the other hand, iLounge did predict the iPhone 5′s shrunken dock connector and changed hardware before the alleged leaks.

The first rumor one the list is the most discussed: the New iPhone. The unnamed source claims that it will be ready to ship mid-september, ready for launch “just before October.” The iPhone 4S debuted in October, so that is not an unbelievable rumor.

Alongside the iPhone, there’s the iPod counterpart. According to the rumor the new iPod Touch will be getting an update to the wide screen 4″ form factor, along with an updated processor. iLounge leaves the possibility open that it will release at the same time as the new iPhone, as it would be the first time a new iPhone launched alongside an iPod touch, though they don’t seem to be vouching for for the possibility.

The strange but intriguing rumor we’ve heard about the redesigned iPod nano isn’t even on the source’s radar. They do not think it will be released this holiday season.

The iPad Mini will not ship alongside the iPhone, according to iLounge‘s sources. They suggest it will be ready to ship by November. Unsurprisingly, they are guessing that the iPad Mini will be released alongside a small version of Apple’s Smart cover case.

Speaking of cases, Apple is said to be designing two new cases: one similar to the bumper, the other will “have a major impact on the accessory market if released” according to the unnamed source. The new iPhone = new Bumper rumor makes sense to me, but I can’t imagine what Apple could do with a case that would have a major impact on the accessory market. Maybe it will be expandable?

The last rumor is the odd one of the bunch. It concerns a ‘fourth generation iPad‘ and will feature a minor body update for compatibility with Apple’s new Mini dock connector. The iPad is also said to include a rear microphone. (Do that many people make films with unwieldy rectangles of glass and metal?) Suspiciously, iLounge‘s source suggests that Apple will release this refreshed iPad alongside the iPad Mini. Considering the third generation iPad launched in March, that would put the third generation iPad at only 8.5 months at the top of the heap.
