Citi analyst, Richard Gardner told some clients today that:

According to “several sources” the next iPad will launch in February, and it will sport a screen with double the resolution of the current model.

He continues in saying that:

There do not appear to be any significant technical hurdles remaining” to prevent a launch of a high-resolution iPad, despite rumors to the contrary.

While this is close to Apple’s expected release of mid-March of 2012, there have been reported issues of manufacturing both the Retina Display and the rumored A6 quad-core processor that may first appear in the iPad 3.
