Learn How To Install MobileTerminal V4.2.6 The Easy Way! [iOS4 Compatible Version]

I have received a lot of question regarding installing MobileTerminal on the iOS4 or iOS4.0.1 firmware. Instead of writing a tutorial on manually installing Mobile Terminal, I thought I would simply upload MobileTerminal V4.2.6 to our Repository. After re-compiling Mobile Terminal, I have uploaded it to our repository and it is available for download. All you will need to do is add our repository to your iDevice, and you will have a Working Version of Mobile Terminal on your iOS4 iDevice.

If you want to install Mobile Terminal to your iPod Touch, iPhone or even iPad, running the iOS4 firmware then follow these easy steps presented to you below…

Installing MobileTerminal On iOS4 Devices!

Step 1) - The first thing you must obviously do to install MobileTerminal V4.2.6, is jailbreak your iDevice. You can follow this tutorial here! Step 2) – Once you have jailbroken your iDevice, you will need to launch Cydia and add the following source, below by going into Manage > Sources > Edit > Add.

Once you have added the Repo to your iDevice, you will need to simply Search for MobileTerminal, via the search pane. Step 3) – Once you see mobileterminal on your search results install it to your iPod Touch, iPhone or even iPad. Note: Make sure you choose the right package; it will be named MobileTerminal (iOS4 Compatible). As you see, installing MobileTerminal to your iDevice running the iOS4 firmware is extremely easy thanks to our repository.     You need a trailing slash, ie http://www.podzombie.com/repository/

    From the Apache docs: “Every webmaster can sing a song about the problem of the trailing slash on URLs referencing directories…” http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/misc/rewriteguide.html

    I am sorry that that happened. I have refreshed my repo and re-added now 3 times and I didn’t experience any errors. I have also experienced this error before when adding a repo from myrepospace. They provide a solution to fix this error here: http://www.myrepospace.com/wiki/20/Cydia-Error—All-Packages-and-Repos-Gone
    Please email if you need any help, and I apologize that you received an error. I was actually performing maintenance on the repo during the time you installed the package, so that could of caused the error. It is back up to 100% now.

    Cyfix should do it but i cannot find it in the Cydia repositories.

    I’m from Belgium, over here (Cydia) have the old Terminal for iOS 3… Number 300 or something. I search allover the Cydia… sources and don’t find something as the name podzombie. But I find the download (MobileTerminal-4.2.6.deb) in other site and they advice to put it in WinSCP in folder ‘tmp’. Or make an map Cydia (/var/root//Media/Cydia/ and than AutoInstall. All this actions don’t work. You know;.. the topic is changing passwd… So I hope to find a solution… because I don’t feel me free with this upen source ALPINE passwd!

    Hope someone know how to get podzombie in Europe (Belgium) or other solution!

    Hello, did you say you have added our source? You will need to add our source before you will find Mobileterminal ios4. Go into Manage > Edit Add and add: http://www.podzombie.com/repository/
    Once you have added the source install it to your iDevice. If you can still not find it you will need to download the .deb file and create the autoinstall path as you were saying. This should work just make sure you restart your iDevice after placing the .deb file. Hope this helps, and if you need more help reply back anytime!

    alright… i think i messed up installing mobile terminal and i am in a loop of overwriting.

    i think i need to find a .plist file? but anyways, my errors are:

    /var/cache/apt/archives/mobileterminal_426_iphoneos-arm.deb

    trying to overwrite ‘Applications/Terminal.app/_CodeSignature?CodeResources’, which is also in package com.hackyouriphone.mobileterminal

    hackyouriphone is a repo. i think i messed up trying to install the new one when i had the old one. i tried deleting the .deb file but it keeps coming back. i then tried setting it to 777 so it can overwrite. im still out of luck.

    can you guys please help?

    nevermind. after deleting whatever said terminal in a few directories i found, i managed to finally be able to uninstall mobileterminal and then reinstall the new one. if anyone needs help, i might be able to.

    I am glad you managed to get it to work Jesse. A lot of times if you already had a packaged installed and try to overwrite it Cydia has troubles doing this. If you need anymore help please let me know.

    Firstly, can we scroll up and down in this version? This is very important.. basic stuff.

    Secondly, how can I add shortcuts to the list? Anything in the (i) button doesn’t work. Please advise? Thanks!

    sub-process/bin/bzip2 returned an error code (2) AND error refreshing data. Need help please. mobile terminal is crashing. trying to crack safari download manager and need mobile terminal updated. PLEASE HELP thanks

    Hello Mastaty32, What firmware are you currently running? I just tested the source and I am receiving no errors personally. Do you have the outdaded version currently installed?

    Hello Jimbo, sorry for the late reply I must of missed your comment. Unfortunately this new version of MobileTerminal does not support these features as it is still in early beta stages. There is however an alternative developed by Saurik that features scrolling, shortcuts etc… Take a look at this post:
