Display Recorder Cydia Tweak Now Compatible With The iOS 5.0 And iOS 5.0.1 Firmware

Ryan Petrich has recently tweeted that Display Recorder is now compatible with the iOS 5 firmware generation. In case you were not aware, Display Recorder is a Cydia application that can reliably record the screen of your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. It has numerous options (video format, video quality, upload to YouTube etc.) and supports both landscape and portrait mode.

Ryan Petrich has mentioned that the reason it took him so long to port Display Recorder to the iOS 5 firmware generation is because Apple rewrote the JPEG driver and he had to scrap the encoder altogether.

If you have already purchased Display Recorder simply launch Cydia and install Display Recorder v1.2.5 to your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad running the iOS 5.0 or iOS 5.0.1 firmware. If you have not purchased Display Recorder then you can buy it from the Cydia Store for a price of $4.99. Let us know what you think of Display Recorder for iOS 5 in the comments section below…
