Twitter.com For iPad Now Has An Improved HTML5 Interface

TechCrunch recently broke news that Twitter has introduced a new version of Twitter.com for iPad. Until now the device had used the basic version of Twitter.com that we see when we login on a desktop browser.

The new updated full HTML5 version of the site is based on the iPhone and iPod UI that Twitter released not long ago, and is inherently reminiscent of said interface.

TechCrunch reports:

Says Twitter representative Carolyn Penner, “The HTML5 app provides a great option for people who prefer to use the browser over native apps. Its two-column view is consistent with the Twitter experience you’re used to (on Twitter.com), and it takes advantage of touch gestures and other device capabilities.”

We’ve seen the recent Skype for iPad release, and now the iPad optimized version of Twitter.com. We are now all ears for the anticipated release of the native Facebook application for the device, completing the trio for iPad of the most popular social networks and messaging hubs.

We expect the new HTML5 version of Twitter.com for iPad to be available abroad within the next week.
