The Apple Game Center Will Not Support the iPhone 2G and 3G!
With this release of the iOS4.1 firmware just around the corner Apple has released some interesting information. Apple has just made it clear that users of the iPhone 3G will soon join the outdated Apple line; just as the iPhone 2G did. There were rumors going around the the iPhone 3G would not receive Game Center, and Apple has just proved them to be true! If you look on their official website you will see that support for Game Center on iOS 4.1 includes only the latest iDevices. While abandoning old products is necessary, if I was a holder of the iPhone 3G I would be a little upset.
The strange thing is that the iPod Touch 2G was supported, when the iPod Touch 2G has almost the same specs as the iPhone 3G. Owners of the iPhone 3G can expect to be dropped for support next year when Apple reveals the iOS5 firmware generation. Are you a holder of an iPhone 3G? Whats your thoughts on this?
