Mobile development giant Gameloft has just released a new trailer for their upcoming Dark Knight Rises game, a movie tie-in title that will be available on iOS and Android. The game looks to borrow heavily from the recent Batman games on consoles, Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.
The visuals are surprisingly good for a mobile game, and do a decent job of aping the art style of Arkham City. The fast-paced combo-heavy fighting system used in the console games may not transfer well to the touch screen interface, but presumably Gameloft has some ideas on how to make it work. The French studio has developed possibly more mobile games than anyone else in the world, with over 60 titles available across all mobile platforms.
The Dark Knight Rises game will be available in both App Store and Play Store on July 20, to coincide with the release of the movie. If you missed out on those midnight screening tickets, you’ll be able to console yourself with Gameloft’s mobile interpretation of Batman’s latest big-screen adventures.
