Here is an Infographic that will show you how bad the security in mobile applications actually is. Even though there have been reports about the iOS platform having amazing security, hackers crack thousands of applications every single day. And it’s worse on the Android platform.
Piracy has been around even before the App Store and it has continued to live on. Hackers and crackers pirate App Store and Google Play Store apps every single day. According to a new study from Arxan Technologies, about 92 percent of the top 100 paid apps on the App Store are hacked. And if that’s bad, 100 percent of all the top 100 paid apps on the Google Play Store are hacked. I wonder how the developers make any money, if all their apps are available for free. The free apps aren’t left behind either. Almost 40 percent of free apps on the App Store are hacked to get access to extra features, remove ads etc. and about 80 percent of free apps on Android are hacked. Those are some bad figures, don’t you think? Check out the complete Infographic below, it tells more:
The Infographic really shows how bad app security on both iOS and Android really is, does it not? However, the Infographic also shows that the app economy is only going to grow. Despite of all the piracy, mobile app revenues will grow to about $46 Billion by 2018 from current $8.5 Billion.
