Evernote And YouTube For iOS Updated With Plenty Of New Features
iOS apps Evernote and YouTube have been updated to version 5.2 and 1.2.1, respectively. The update brings a lot of new features to the Evernote app such as a new Snippet View, improved PDF viewing, new formatting options and plenty more. Google’s YouTube for iOS app now lets you send videos over Wi-Fi to Xbox, PS3 or Google TV, record and upload videos using YouTube Capture and more.
Let’s dive into the updates in more detail.
First up, Evernote 5.2 for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad gets a load of new features. There’s a new Snippet View, which lets you easily browse through all your notes. The new PDF viewer gives you multiple preview screens, a 2 page view on the iPad and a new rotation lock. You can also search for text inside a PDF. Improved formatting options such as Simplify Text and Plain Text are now available as well.
Using Evernote Business? There’s some updates for you as well. You can now set Business Notebooks as Offline Notebooks and view your Business Library from your iPad. Finally, PDF’s and emails can be opened in email, airprint and other supported apps. The updated app can now handle large note uploads and those annoying timeout bugs have been taken care of, along with plenty of others.
YouTube for iOS has been updated with some new features as well. Now you can use the iOS app to send videos to your TV, Xbox or PlayStation 3 and control them from your iOS device. Remember Google’s YouTube Capture app? Well, now you can record and upload to YouTube directly using the Capture app.
Streaming over a slow Wi-Fi connection will no longer be much of a problem with the new YouTube app. Plus, other stability improvements and bug fixes constitute the update. Google has been providing timely updates for all its iOS apps, but YouTube for iOS still needs a lot of improvement. It’s not as great as the Android version.
